Primary Goal:
The primary aim of B.Ed. programme is to prepare effective & competent teachers for working in elementary, secondary & senior secondary schools who are capable of responding to the changing needs of modern Indian Society.
Eligibility Conditions:
Candidates with at least 50% marks either in the Bachelor Degree/or in the Master’s Degree of Maharishi Dayanand University, Rohtak, Kurukshetra University, Kurukshetra, Chaudhary Devi Lal University, Sirsa or any other qualification recognized as equivalent there to are eligible for the program.
Note:
- There shall be no rounding off of percentage of marks of the qualifying examination from 0.5% and above to next higher number for determining the eligibility i.e. 49.5% and above will not the rounded 50%.
- 47.5% marks for SC/ST candidates and for blind/physically Handicapped and Visually Impaired candidates.
- Compartment candidates will not be allowed admission in B.Ed. (Regular Course) in any case.
Division of Seats
50% seats of the total seats in the college shall be reserved for group –i.e. Science & Maths group candidates. Other seats shall be reserved for Group –II i.e. Humanities & Commerce Group candidates.
Note:
These seats which remain vacant in Group-I can be converted in Group-II and vice-versa.
Reservation of Seats:
50% will be reserved for Sikh Minority candidates. Remaining 50% seats will be available for the general candidates. In case the Sikh reserved seats are not filled by Sikh candidates then these will be offered to Non-Sikh candidates strictly on merit basis.
Attendance
As per University rules a student is required to attend not less than two third of lectures and practical (not less than 75%) separately held in the college in each academic year. Students not fulfilling the attendance requirements will be debarred from appearing in the Annual University Examination.
Internal Assessment:
As per decision of the CDLU/KUK, 20% of total marks in B.Ed. course will be awarded on the basis of Internal Assessment based on tutorials/mid-term examination/ class presentations and attendance etc., every year. These marks will be shown in the Marks Sheet issued by the university and will be included in determining the division. Students will be required to submit written assignment under the guidance of their teachers. They are required to participate in group discussions, project work and appear in the house examination.
University Examination:
For students of B.Ed. there is an Annual University Examination at the end of academic year. Pass Percentage for the University Examination is minimum 33% in each subject (Theory and Practical Separately) with a minimum aggregate of 40%.
Award of Degree/DMC:
The successful candidates will be awarded Degrees/D.M.Cs on the basis of their result at the end of the session classifying the division as under:
